Halloween

I never really know what to do with this "holiday". When I was a kid, mom got on a kick where we didn't celebrate it because of... well... I'm not really sure. I have a sneaking suspicion it was just too much of a hassle. Anyway, now I'm kind of Halloween-impaired. I try, but things don't really work out. I never really enjoy it. I am determined not to pass this disfunction on to Connor. Besides, I like dressing him up. Last year, he was Woody from Toy Story. We went to a festival type thing a local church was having. It was just right. Connor got a hay ride and got to run around a little. This year I was going to try trick-or-treating, but Connor wouldn't nap today. I wasn't going to put myself through that misery, so mom, Clara, and I went to dinner with Mr. Incredible. He was cute, although irritable and hard-of-hearing.

This is Connor making big muscles. (of course the stuffing helps)

I got a pea costume for Clara, but I didn't think she was going to tolerate it very well. It's all good. Connor just helped me hand out candy on his first Halloween, so she is just following the tradition.

On the moving front, I got the official "your move is scheduled" email today. It has the company listed and such. Michael (who is now in port - it's great to talk to him) is going to take care of housing. I hope it goes smoothly. I have been planning our drive and stops recently. I'm nervous of that, because I'm not sure how the kids will be. I guess we'll find out!

Today was my last praise team rehearsal. It was fine... there weren't many of us there. Just me and Bryan singing. Made for a short and low stress rehearsal. We'll see how Sunday goes. I hope I don't get all mushy and such. I don't want to cry in front of everybody... but there's not much hope of that. ~:-)
