Green Room Fun
I love being in the green room during the service. It's tucked away under the sanctuary next to the kids sunday school classes. We have a little TV so we can watch the service or (more frequently) we have fun conversations about growing up in church and people we know. It's a good time of getting to know the people I play with. It's good clean green room fun.

Sorry to...
leave you hanging! Hehe... I'm sure the anticipation was killing you!
So anyway, we are staying here. Michael's new job is right here... no moving. It is so totally unexpected, but very good. There of course was a little drama involved. We found out Wednesday that the original plan was not going to fly. Not only were we not going to South Carolina, our top choices were San Diego or... JAPAN! Ack! I was shocked, but quickly became excited. We've wanted to go overseas. That doesn't come along often. So for about 12 hours we were going to Japan in 2 months. Except for having to take care of all the stuff that goes along with moving to an overseas station in a very quick fashion, I was strangely cool with this. Then next morning, Michael found out he didn't fit the job description, but there was this other job... so now he's some coordinator of something or other. He's not even sure about the details, but he talked to the dude he's replacing, and it sounded like a good opportunity. Not necessarily career enhancing, but a unique experience and most importantly a chance to rest for Michael. This will be good.
No to go about truly settling into New England...
BTW, our church was so great about all this. I had no less than 4 people praying for us within an hour of finding out about the change of plans. People who clearly care... it was a wonderful feeling (I'm tearing... that should tell you something). I have found a church family. I recommend that to anyone.

Easy does it.
Tonight I had my second rehearsal with "Team 4" (the praise team at church). All I could say last time was "weird". This time was much better. I was a little more at ease. I had an idea of what to expect. That made it so much easier! It's much different than my comfortable little hole I had at Thalia, where I could just do what I always did. I like the challenge...
So... long time, no post right? I was visiting VA. I got to see my parent's new place. I love it! It is so very them! Then I came back home and have been catching up on life. It's been easy... but I like easing into things. We had a good weekend with friends and today we just chilled at home. I finally cleaned my bathroom. Wooo... now I will actually feel clean coming out of the shower! :-) The kids are doing well. Clara's teething or something and hasn't quite gotten back to her good sleeping self after our trip. Connor is upstairs sleeping without a pull-up for the first time tonight. He was very concerned. We'll see how it goes. I just need to remember to take him to the bathroom before I go to bed... which will be soon.
The evenings are getting chilly here. I need to find Clara's sweater and wash Connor's new pullover so we can have them in the car ready for those chilly evenings (and days in the shade). It's nice. I'm sad to see the summer go. I'm beginning to mourn our coming move a little already. When the seasons change it's hard to deny that time is marching forward. I'm sad about what we will be leaving, perhaps even a little more than last time. I know I probably won't be visiting here frequently. Thankfully, the submarine community is a small one, and we are bound to run into friends again. But now is not the time to be sad! It's way to early for that!

So here are my beautiful babies! I think you've been denied their photos long enough! I keep forgetting my camera when we go cool places and one can only proudly display so many headshots... what am I talking about? I know you just and get enough of my lovely children's heads! ~;-) Have a great day!

Nervous and uncomfortable
Not words I would use to describe me at a praise team rehearsal, and yet, tonight, that's what I was. Yes, tonight I went to a rehearsal for team 4 at GBC. Weird is the only word that I can come up with to describe the experience. It's so strange being the new chick and finding my place. I don't know the personalities of the group. I don't know each one's musical abilities. I walked into the group blind. It's a good thing... always growing... but it's, well, weird. I was in no way nervous and uncomfortable because of the group. They were great. *sigh* I wish I could just walk in and sing the parts I know and the songs I love. There's a reason for this too. Just like I now know why we moved here, I will also know why I'm enduring the "trauma" of making myself a spot in a new group for a few short months. All will be revealed...

Let the weight loss begin!
I did it. On Saturday I headed my butt over to the local Weight Watchers place and signed myself up. I enjoyed my first meeting. Today I started eating following the "Flex" Plan. (That's the one with the points, if you know anything about WW.) It was challenging. I was hungry. Of course, I did not take into account that I am still feeding Clara and get 10 more points a day because of it. I had figured that I really don't eat that much and am about to wean her, so why get used to the extra food. Then as I'm sitting there hungry this afternoon, I realized that I munch more than I think. I have a little snack when Connor has lunch and sometimes another when he snacks. I guess I have to feed the baby from something, otherwise my bum would be disappearing a bit faster than it is!
Anyway, I figured I could use the extra help with the food side of losing weight. I do really well with exercise (once I get going), but I've never been good at watching what I eat. Let me change that... I'm really good at watching it head into my mouth! ;-D I think this will help me keep on track and reach my goals. I know I can do it. I just need to do it!
On another note, I started a class at church today called The Heart of the Artist. I am very excited about this. It is based around a book by Rory Noland by the same name. So far, I like it. I also really like the philosophy of the church about quality... "It's good enough for church" is not an acceptable statement. Perfectionism is bad, because it draws the focus away from God, but excellence is to be aimed for. Yay. I'm beginning to think this will be a great place to grow.
