Freaking out... totally.

My calm from yesterday is gone. I am a ball of nerves. I am more than slightly paranoid. I need something to destroy. Too bad I need my plates...

I'm going in tomorrow to have a relatively minor surgical procedure... but it's my first ever. I'm not relishing the thought of losing an hour of my life. There's also a bunch of other emotional baggage to tag onto this. So... yeah...

I find myself cleaning. Anyone who knows me understands that means I am totally freaking out. Yup... this is me... totally freaking out. So anyway, if you think of me tomorrow between 9 and 1, please lift up a prayer... because I am totally freaking out. ~:-0

Tagged

Way back, long ago in a month called March (otherwise know as the time Tracey had dropped off the face of the planet) I was tagged by my friend Catherine to share 7 random facts about myself. Being that I'm into lists right now, I thought I would finally share my 7 facts. ~:-)

1. I am an extraordinarily good whistler. I have even considered looking into the requirements for those whistling competitions (I remember seeing a champion on some morning show when I was little), but then I feel totally silly for even thinking about it. Just think about being introduced as the Whistling National Champion...

2. I don't like food that has been on other people's plates (with few exceptions) or been bitten by another person. This may not seem so strange except that it extends to my children. The though of touching or (God-forbid) eating a already started chicken nugget just makes me gag. I would wear gloves while feeding them if I could. And don't even get me started on gooey, food coated cups and glasses.

3. I'm really bad at talking on the phone. I have enough problems with normal face to face interaction that talking on the phone just totally does me in.

4. When I was a kid, I would spend hours in my room listening to tapes and records. I would memorize the words and pretend I was the artist giving a concert. Sometimes I would just dance around. I remember doing this with the Footloose soundtrack, West Side Story, anything Amy Grant, and Whitney Houston.

5. I am the slowest ironer ever. I don't dislike ironing, it just takes me so long it's a major inconvenience. And, I'm not very good at it, so everything looks like I never ironed it to begin with.

6. I never graduated from college. I marched and then received my "so sorry" letter the next day. I never bothered to fight the decision, which I mildly regret now. It's not a big deal though. I'm still able to work and such, and to me, that's what really matters.

7. I'm not good with kids. This is funny, being that I have them and worked in pediatrics and such, but I really don't have patience for them (and of course they sense it). I love them and wish that I had that "special magic" but I've got to be honest... I way don't.

I guess that's it. I'm going to cop out and say if you're reading this, consider yourself tagged! Ta for now!

Did you ever...

have an intense longing? A feeling you may have missed something? The idea that you should have worked harder at something? I'm feeling a lot of that right at this minute. Hmm... what to do about it?

Musicals

Does anyone else have serious trouble passing up an old musical when it's on TV? No matter how corny they may be at times, I just love musicals. This morning, The King and I is on. As I was straightening the living room, I found myself frozen watching Anna and the King dance around the ballroom. Even my non-romantic self has imagined myself as Anna in that famous scene. Oh... how I love a musical!

Moving... not me

Our neighbor's things are being loaded today and then they're on their way. I am a little surprised by the feelings I have about this. Of course, it's pretty much all selfish thoughts... we knew them, but just barely so. Michael works with the "dad" and I had met the "mom" at a function. They were good neighbors.

Anyway, seeing the truck being filled is giving me flashbacks (okay, a little dramatic, I guess) and reminding me that our time is soon at hand. It may even come sooner than we think. I am mildly freaking out. Nothing bad... just over thinking. I am just beginning to mourn... and I think I'm beginning a little PMS too. *sigh* Can it be January yet? I'm sick of the waiting and uncertainty already.

Easy does it.

Tonight I had my second rehearsal with "Team 4" (the praise team at church). All I could say last time was "weird". This time was much better. I was a little more at ease. I had an idea of what to expect. That made it so much easier! It's much different than my comfortable little hole I had at Thalia, where I could just do what I always did. I like the challenge...

So... long time, no post right? I was visiting VA. I got to see my parent's new place. I love it! It is so very them! Then I came back home and have been catching up on life. It's been easy... but I like easing into things. We had a good weekend with friends and today we just chilled at home. I finally cleaned my bathroom. Wooo... now I will actually feel clean coming out of the shower! :-) The kids are doing well. Clara's teething or something and hasn't quite gotten back to her good sleeping self after our trip. Connor is upstairs sleeping without a pull-up for the first time tonight. He was very concerned. We'll see how it goes. I just need to remember to take him to the bathroom before I go to bed... which will be soon.

The evenings are getting chilly here. I need to find Clara's sweater and wash Connor's new pullover so we can have them in the car ready for those chilly evenings (and days in the shade). It's nice. I'm sad to see the summer go. I'm beginning to mourn our coming move a little already. When the seasons change it's hard to deny that time is marching forward. I'm sad about what we will be leaving, perhaps even a little more than last time. I know I probably won't be visiting here frequently. Thankfully, the submarine community is a small one, and we are bound to run into friends again. But now is not the time to be sad! It's way to early for that!

So here are my beautiful babies! I think you've been denied their photos long enough! I keep forgetting my camera when we go cool places and one can only proudly display so many headshots... what am I talking about? I know you just and get enough of my lovely children's heads! ~;-) Have a great day!

Memories

I'm feeling the urge to scrapbook. I've finally put up my family pictures (Michael made fun of me nearly the whole time... we're moving again in 3ish months and I'm just getting them up). Seeing all those old pictures made me want to preserve some memories. I'm feeling like they will be lost in all our moving. I want my kiddos to remember the great places we've lived and all the cool people we've met. I guess I should get to taking pictures and journaling. I think I'll add an album to my next SU! order. It's just so daunting... I alway have trouble starting. Cards are so quick and easy for me. I just need to make scrapping the same. Just DO it. I guess that's the key. Any tips are appreciated. ~:-)
