Freaking out... totally.

My calm from yesterday is gone. I am a ball of nerves. I am more than slightly paranoid. I need something to destroy. Too bad I need my plates...

I'm going in tomorrow to have a relatively minor surgical procedure... but it's my first ever. I'm not relishing the thought of losing an hour of my life. There's also a bunch of other emotional baggage to tag onto this. So... yeah...

I find myself cleaning. Anyone who knows me understands that means I am totally freaking out. Yup... this is me... totally freaking out. So anyway, if you think of me tomorrow between 9 and 1, please lift up a prayer... because I am totally freaking out. ~:-0

ECHO... Echo... echo...

Hello there! As was recently so lovingly pointed out by my mother, I have been a touch neglectful of this blog. Evidently the Pooh joke has gotten old. ;-) Of course, if you want to check that I'm still alive, check traceystamps.blogspot.com... I'm a touch more consistent with that one.

So... what's been happening here? Well, this week Clara got Roseola. Sunday, Monday and a good part of Tuesday she had a fever topping off over 104. It was fun. It was all good though. Wednesday evening she started to get a little splotchy, but I figured it was from her major wipe-out at the park earlier in the day. Thursday it was all over her body. An hour and a half at the clinic later we have the verdict of Roseola. Woo hoo. One more common childhood virus I can check off the "my-kid's-had-it" list. Of course there's nothing to do about it but wait for it to fade, which it has already.

Well, there's a little start for you. I will post more (with pictures) later today or tomorrow. There's all kinds of nature involved... sounds super exciting, huh? It was!

Babies in the Snow

So we've had a nice little day at home today. As I said, practically the whole state shut down. Significantly for us, that meant Connor's flu shot appointment was canceled again. Let me tell you how heartbroken I was. Can you see my tears? I think I am going to take this as a sign that he doesn't really need the flu shot that badly. Boo hoo.

We headed out right after lunch for a little snow time. The kiddos got to try out their fancy new duds - boots and snowsuits. Both handled them well, although Clara couldn't get up if she fell over. It was very funny. I started out carrying her across the street to be social and she began her all to familiar cry of "WA! WA!" (meaning, of course, walk!) I would set her down, look for Connor (off playing), and turn back to her on her hands and knees. I gave her time to figure it out, but soon the cries for "Hep!" would begin. Eventually she just gave up and started crying "Hep!" as soon as she bit the dust. All in all, they both enjoyed it. Hopefully, it's not too icy in the morning to get some fun snow time in!

I'm still alive...

I know, because I'm still miserable. Okay, not as miserable as I have been. I am getting better, with professional help. I had the loverly flu last week. Fever, chills, aches, congestion, cough... etc. Friday I started to feel better but then my snot turned yellow in the evening. On Saturday I officially decided that I had a sinus infection and needed to see a doctor ASAP (Monday). Sunday further supported that conclusion. This morning I woke up with a little sinus pressure (compared to the intense pain from Sunday), but a killer ear pain. Man. I hate it when my body is predictable. The same thing happened last year with my annual sinus-pressure-fest. So at 6:30 this morning when the call center opened I made my appointment. Michael came home to watch the kids (thank God!) and I headed off to see what was said. He said I have a sinus infection and that he thought my ear pain was referred. I got heavy duty Motrin, heavy duty decongestant, and augmentin. I feel better already. I'm still tired and cranky, but that's a pretty frequent thing for me. The funny thing is my ear with "referred" pain popped this afternoon and has been leaking ever since. Luckily my antibiotic will cover that too. Anyway, I wanted to update everybody on that situation.

The kids so far have not gotten that ill. Connor had a few days of a very mild fever and congestion and fatigue, but he seems to be making it through. Clara came out clean as a whistle (except for being a little ticked at me - I had some feeding issues due to fatigue and such). She is suffering from something a little different. Finally she is getting teeth! She has a bumpy lump right in the bottom middle and I don't think there's a second of the day that she isn't chewing on something. I'm kind of scared about this, because she is a biter. She comes at you with her mouth open all the time. She likes to chew chins (something I hate btw, but seems to be cute to others). Well, I need to get to bed... or at least sit here mindlessly watching Michael play Lego Star Wars 2 for a little while. Have a great day tomorrow!

Stamping!

I have sooo been stamping! Thank God! I love my new space. I just get in my little office chair (with wheels) and sit in front of my new table and get to work. All my stuff is in arms reach (with a little roll sometimes). It's great. I keep getting lost in time every evening. I really need to stick a clock on the wall. That way I won't lose so much sleep!

The kids are good. They each went to the doctor this week. Clara had her 6 month appointment (she'll actually be 7 months tomorrow) which included shots. I am paying for it today. She hasn't been very happy and has been... well... smelly. Hopefully she is better tomorrow so I can get some stuff done around here. It's hard to do anything while carrying a 20lb lump around. Connor is also healthy. We got him a referral to see an allergist (finally). I am tired of GPs that seem to roll their eyes when I say he has an allergy. I feel like an allergist will, I don't know, justify(?) me saying he has allergies (even though he's already tested positive). We'll see in a few months (2 weeks for the referral to come back, at least 2 for the appointment and then a few for the labs to come back etc.) *sigh*

Well, I came up with my next entry while typing up this one... stay tuned for What I Miss About Virginia! ~:-)
